Hisense TV Error Code E102: IP Address Configuration Error

Error code E102 on a Hisense TV indicates an IP address configuration problem. This error means the television has connected to your Wi-Fi network but was unable to obtain a valid IP address, leaving it without a functioning internet connection despite appearing to be on the network.

Why IP Address Errors Occur

Every device on a home network needs a unique IP address to communicate with the router and access the internet. Most home networks use DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), which automatically assigns IP addresses to devices when they connect. If the DHCP server on your router fails to respond, assigns a duplicate address, or runs out of available addresses to distribute, the TV will display E102.

This error can also occur if the TV is configured to use a static (manually entered) IP address that is no longer valid for your network — for example, if your router’s IP range has changed.

Fixing E102

Restart the TV and Router The simplest fix is restarting both the TV and the router simultaneously. Unplug both devices, wait 60 seconds, plug in the router first and allow it to fully restart, then power on the TV. This forces the TV to request a fresh IP address from the router’s DHCP server.

Switch to Automatic IP Assignment On the TV, go to Settings > Network > IP Settings and ensure the setting is on Obtain Automatically (or DHCP) rather than a manually configured static IP. This allows the router to assign the correct IP automatically.

Release and Renew the IP Address If the TV supports it, use the network diagnostics tool to release the current IP address and request a new one from the router.

Increase the DHCP Pool If you have many devices connected to your router, it may have run out of IP addresses to assign. Log into your router’s admin panel and increase the size of the DHCP address pool.

Check for IP Conflicts Use your router’s admin panel to review connected devices and identify any IP address conflicts. If two devices share the same address, one of them will be unable to connect properly.
