The E002 error code on a Hisense television is a system-level fault that tends to appear when the TV encounters a problem with its memory management or internal data processing. It is closely related to E001 but typically points to a more specific issue: the TV’s RAM or volatile memory is unable to allocate the resources needed to run the operating system or a specific application.

What Does E002 Mean?

In technical terms, E002 signals a memory allocation failure. When a Hisense TV boots up or launches an application, it requests a portion of its RAM to handle the processes involved. If that memory request cannot be fulfilled — either because RAM is already fully occupied or because a memory error has occurred — the system throws the E002 error.

This error can appear on screen during startup, when switching between apps, or when trying to run a particularly resource-intensive application such as a 4K streaming service.

Why Does E002 Occur?

The most common reason is that the TV has too many apps running simultaneously in the background. Smart TVs, particularly those running Android TV or Google TV, often keep apps active in the background even when you are not using them. Over time, this background activity consumes more and more RAM, leaving insufficient memory for new processes.

Another cause is a memory leak in a specific application or in the TV’s operating system itself. A memory leak occurs when an app fails to release memory it is no longer using, gradually consuming all available RAM. Firmware bugs can also cause this behavior.

Close Background Apps On Android TV or Google TV models, press the home button, navigate to your recently used apps list, and close every app that is running in the background. The fewer apps competing for RAM, the less likely you are to encounter E002.

Uninstall Unused Applications Go to Settings > Apps and identify apps you no longer use. Uninstalling them reduces background activity and frees up both RAM and internal storage, both of which contribute to memory management health.
