Is your Sony TV displaying a dark screen, flickering backlight, or no picture at all? These are classic symptoms of a failing inverter board. At Pro-Logic Technologies, we specialize in professional inverter board repair and replacement services for Sony TVs, restoring your television's picture quality quickly, affordably, and reliably.
What Is an Inverter Board in a Sony TV?
The inverter board (also called the backlight inverter) is a critical component in LCD televisions. It converts low-voltage DC power into the high voltage AC required to power your TV's backlight lamps. Without a functioning inverter board, your Sony TV's LED or CCFL backlight cannot illuminate the screen—leaving you with a blank, dim, or black display despite the TV producing sound.
When this component fails, many TV owners assume the entire television is dead and consider expensive replacements. However, in most cases, a targeted inverter board repair can restore full functionality at a fraction of the cost of buying a new TV.
Common Signs of a Faulty Inverter Board in Sony TVs
If you notice any of the following symptoms, your Sony TV may need inverter board service:
- Dark or black screen with audio working – The picture is not visible, but sound plays normally.
- Flickering or dimming display – Uneven brightness or a screen that flashes intermittently.
- Picture disappears after a few seconds – The image flashes briefly, then shuts down.
- Visible image with a flashlight test – Shining a flashlight at the screen reveals faint visuals.
- Burning smell or buzzing sounds – Signs of electrical damage on the board itself.
- TV shutting off unexpectedly – Overheating or shorted components triggering protection mode.
If you're experiencing any of these issues, don't rush to replace your TV. Contact Pro-Logic Technologies for a free diagnostic assessment.
