Sony LED LCD TV Screen Repairs, Luthuli Ave - Nairobi
The LED LCD television is the most successful display format in consumer electronics history, and it is the screen type most Nairobi households own today. These sets use a standard liquid crystal panel illuminated by an LED backlight, combining LCD image quality with LED efficiency, slimness, and long service life. Sony BRAVIA LED LCD models span every price tier, from compact bedroom sets to large family living room televisions, and they share a common set of screen technologies and, unfortunately, a common set of screen faults. The good news is that the LED LCD format is the most repairable screen architecture ever mass-produced, and Pro-Logic Technologies on Luthuli Avenue has repaired tens of thousands of them.
Why LED LCD Screens Fail
An LED LCD television divides its functions across a small number of modules. The LED backlight provides the light, the LCD panel forms the image, the T-con board drives the panel, the main board processes the signal, and the power supply feeds them all. Because these modules are separate, faults are localizable and repairable. The most common point of failure is the backlight itself: LED strips age, individual diodes fail, and the drivers that feed them degrade, producing the black screens and dark patches that bring so many sets to our workshop. The second most common failure is the power supply, whose capacitors are consumable components with finite lifespans. Panel ribbons and T-con boards follow. The panel itself is the least likely component to fail spontaneously.
Common LED LCD Screen Faults
The faults we diagnose most frequently on Sony LED LCD televisions include: black screen with sound present, indicating backlight or power failure; dark patches, dim corners, or uneven brightness from failed LED zones; flickering or pulsing brightness, usually driver or power supply related; vertical or horizontal lines from panel ribbon or T-con faults; ghosting and double images from T-con failure; colour distortion from loose connections or failing components; and cracked or pressure-damaged panels following falls or transport accidents. On older sets, general backlight dimming is common and is remedied economically by full strip replacement, which often restores a picture brighter than the owner has seen in years.
Our Repair Process
Every Sony LED LCD screen repair at Pro-Logic Technologies follows a disciplined sequence. The set is first diagnosed thoroughly to isolate the failed module. A written quotation follows, with a plain-language explanation of the fault, before any work is authorized. Backlight repairs are performed in a dust-controlled space with careful panel handling; power supply repairs involve board-level component replacement and load testing; T-con and main board repairs are completed with genuine and compatible parts. Most repairs are finished within one to three days. Every television is then burned in and tested for brightness uniformity, colour accuracy, and thermal stability, and every job is protected by our service warranty.
Repair or Replace
For the overwhelming majority of LED LCD faults, repair is decisively economical. A black-screen television often needs only a backlight service, and a modest repair investment returns a premium-brand set to full service. A cracked panel is the exception; there, we provide a transparent comparison between panel replacement and a new television, and we will tell you honestly which course we would recommend.
