Error 011 on a TCL TV indicates a network setup or configuration problem

TCL TVs Error 011

Error 011 on a TCL TV indicates a network setup or configuration problem — the TV is connected to the network but has encountered an issue with how the network is configured, preventing it from communicating correctly with the internet or Roku’s servers.

What Error 011 Means

Unlike Error 009 (which tells you the router-to-internet connection has failed) or Error 014 (which points to Wi-Fi connectivity failure), Error 011 typically indicates that the TV has a network-level configuration problem. This can involve IP address assignment (DHCP), DNS resolution, or a conflict between the TV’s network settings and the router’s configuration.

Common Causes of Error 011

  • DHCP failure — The router has not successfully assigned an IP address to the TV.
  • IP address conflict — Two devices on the network have been assigned the same IP address.
  • Incorrect DNS settings — The DNS server the TV is using cannot resolve internet addresses.
  • Router configuration issue — Certain router settings (such as strict NAT, AP isolation, or client isolation) can prevent the TV from communicating correctly even when connected.
  • Network settings corruption on the TV — Corrupted network configuration data on the TV can cause persistent Error 011.

How to Fix Error 011

Step 1: Restart both the TV and router. Allow both to fully reboot.

Step 2: On the TV, go to Settings → Network and disconnect from the current network. Reconnect and allow the TV to obtain a fresh IP address automatically (DHCP).

Step 3: If reconnecting does not resolve the issue, try manually assigning a static IP address. In the TV’s network settings, set an IP address outside the router’s automatic DHCP range (e.g., 192.168.1.200), set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, set the gateway to your router’s IP (typically 192.168.1.1), and set DNS to 8.8.8.8.

Step 4: Check the router admin panel for AP isolation or client isolation settings and disable them if enabled.

Step 5: Perform a network reset on the TV to clear all stored network configuration data.
